Originally from Suffolk, Virginia, Mr. Lampton graduated from the University of Virginia in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology.  After serving as a legal assistant at Arnold & Porter in Washington, DC from 1999-2001, Mr. Lampton attended Washington & Lee University School of Law, where he received the Alexander M. and Rose S. Harman Memorial Academic Scholarship, served as staffwriter on the Washington & Lee Law Review, and received his Juris Doctor in 2004.

Mr. Lampton clerked for The Honorable John Grason Turnbull, II, Administrative Judge for the Baltimore County Circuit Court, from August 2004 to August 2005.   He then clerked briefly for The Honorable J. Norris Byrnes and the Honorable Judith C. Ensor, also at the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, prior to beginning private practice in January 2006.

After practicing at respected larger law firms in downtown Baltimore for about 8 years, Mr. Lampton founded The Law Office of David T. Lampton, P.C. in June of 2013.   Mr. Lampton also currently serves as Of Counsel in complex civil litigation matters for the law firm of Smith, Gildea & Schmidt in Towson, MD.
