FAQs.

As a solo practitioner who has been trained at some of the top Baltimore firms, Mr. Lampton is able to provide a top quality product and attention to detail along with the service and reasonable rates of a small firm with significantly less overhead.  Additionally, if Mr. Lampton is unable or unwilling to take your case, he will refer you to a lawyer who may better assist you, at no charge.
This depends.  For most hourly civil litigation work, Mr. Lampton will require an advance retainer, to be negotiated depending on the work to be done.  For a number of types of routine matters, such as adoptions, name changes, basic estate planning, misdemeanor criminal matters, traffic tickets, etc., Mr. Lampton will charge a flat fee, which will not change regardless of the amount of work required, and will need to be paid in advance.  For medical malpractice, auto accident, and other personal injury cases, Mr. Lampton will work on contingency, which means he will take a percentage of the total recovery, and will not be paid unless he successfully negotiates a settlement or wins at trial.  Please contact Mr. Lampton to discuss your case and he will propose a fee structure that makes sense considering your circumstances.
No fee is charged for the initial telephone consultation.  If it is agreed to have a more detailed in person consultation at Mr. Lampton’s office, it can be scheduled at that time.  For personal injury/medical malpractice cases, no in-person consultation fee is charged.  For other types of cases, a $50.00 consultation flat fee is charged for up to an hour in-person consultation.
